Boston music history is alive and well at: “The Music Museum of New England” http://www.mmone.org/
Joe Viglione wrote many reviews of artists that played the Channel and recorded for his Anthology albums. Checkout his Eighties blog
“Club Bohemia” is where the Channel, New Music and Headline bands showcase just as they did in the eighties. Count Viglione still books the club and writes reviews of all the different artists. Check out http://club-bohemia.com
So many shows with so many international, national and homegrown bands throughout the 80s: it is hard to pick a favorite. For me, I have fun memories of New Music Nights and wonderful memories of Reggae and World Music. Does anyone remember December 2 and 3 1988 that Roy Orbison played before passing away to the Rock N Roll heaven? Or Mick Jones, of Big Audio Dynamite, stopping the show to calm down the stage divers? Or maybe how well Extreme played after their European tour? What memories do you have at the Channel?
